[CES 2018] Just like how there are monitors, mice, keyboards, and headphones designed specifically for gamers in mind, there are also speakers that are designed for gaming, where they come with certain features that might give gamers a slight advantage, especially in online multiplayer games.
If you’re looking for some new gaming speakers, you might be interested to learn that Razer has announced several new speakers at CES 2018. This includes the Nommo, the Nommo Chroma, and the Nommo Pro. In terms of hardware specs, the Nommo and Nommo Chroma are 2.0 speakers, meaning that it does not come with a subwoofer.
They will feature 2×3-inch customer woven glass fiber 3-inch drivers, and also rear-firing bass ports. The main difference between them is the built-in Razer Chroma lighting, and the Chroma model will also get built-in DAC. For the Nommo Pro, it is a 2.1 setup with a subwoofer, 2×3-inch full range Dupont Kevlar coated drivers, 2×0.8-inch silk dome tweeters, and a control pod. It will also be THX certified with Dolby virtual speaker.
However despite their differences, all speakers will feature accurate positional audio, which will come in handy especially in first-person shooters where being able to tell where the enemy is coming from could be the difference between victory and loss. As for pricing, the Nommo is priced at $100, the Nommo Chroma is priced at $150, while the Nommo Pro is priced at $500.
