The company expects that this update will find its way to its smart shower system later this year, and it will pretty much do what you think it does. Basically by adding Siri and Alexa support, users will be able to control the U By Moen shower using just their voice and also through devices like the Amazon Echo series of speakers, the iPhone, iPad, and presumably the HomePod when it eventually launches in 2018.
Users will be able to do things like use their voice to turn on their shower and set it at a desired temperature, create presets that they can choose from in Alexa, start, stop, or pause their shower, and so on. If your shower does take a while to heat up, then this would be a great way to get your shower heated up while you do something else.
The U By Moen isn’t exactly a cheap system and is priced starting at $1,160 and can go up to $2,200 for all the bells and whistles, but if you’re interested in checking it out, head on over to Moen’s website for the details.
