Alleged Render Of LG G7 Leaked

We have been hearing rumors that LG is working on a new flagship phone in the form of the LG G7. Not much is known about the handset in terms of its design, at least until now where a post on TigerMobiles.com has revealed a render that is allegedly that of the upcoming LG G7. Assuming the render is real, it does reveal some of the changes we can expect.

For starters it appears that LG will be retaining the same full-screen design as we saw in the LG G6, although the render does make it appear that the bezels on the sides are even thinner than its predecessor. It also seems that LG might have moved the front-facing camera because from the render, we can only make out two circular cutouts on the front of the phone.

However apart from that, the handset seems to be pretty much the same as the previous model. The report from the website also claims that instead of using the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, the LG G7 is expected to reuse last year’s Snapdragon 835, which isn’t exactly a bad thing given that the Snapdragon 835 is pretty powerful in its own right, but from a marketing point of view it probably doesn’t look so good.

We have heard the rumors that LG is planning on rebranding the G-series of smartphones, and a recent trademark filing has revealed a possible name: Iconic. It is also possible that the LG G7 could be the last flagship phone we’ll be seeing from LG in 2018 as the company has confirmed that they will no longer be releasing flagships on an annual basis.
