The LG G6 is yet to receive its Android 8.0 Oreo update. LG has been working on it and the company recently released a beta firmware for this handset in China. It hasn’t confirmed, though, when the public release is going to take place. According to a new report, the LG G6 Android 8.0 Oreo release is expected to take place in February.
LG has only released the beta firmware for the LG G6 in China. The company hasn’t said if it has any plans of expanding the beta firmware to users in other markets across the globe.
A customer support representative for LG has mentioned that the Android 8.0 Oreo update for the LG G6 is likely to be released by February 2018. The rep does caution that this timeframe is for the model number H870S which is meant for the Middle East region.
Major firmware releases take place in phases so it can be expected that the update will be released elsewhere around the same time. LG G6 owners can keep their fingers crossed for the arrival for the Android 8.0 Oreo update in the coming month.
LG will hopefully come out with an official release roadmap as well which will end the confusion surrounding the release timeframe for this update.
