As if one wasn’t enough, JBL has since thrown their hat into the ring with the announcement of the JBL Link View. In concept the Link View is pretty much identical to that of the Amazon Echo Show and the Lenovo Smart Display, in which it is a set of speakers with a touchscreen display with a digital assistant baked into it, except that instead of Alexa it is Google Assistant.
The Link View will sport an 8-inch display that also incorporates a 5MP camera on the front, along with two front-facing 10W stereo speakers, and a rear-facing passive radiator that JBL claims will be able to project “rich, deep bass”. Given JBL’s experience in the speaker industry, we expect that they should sound pretty decent.
It will also include support for Google Cast, multiroom audio, WiFi, Bluetooth, and IPX4 splash proof protection. There is no word on pricing just yet, but the JBL Link View is expected to be made available this coming summer.
