Unfortunately it seems that its momentum could be affected by the other iPhone models, or so a report from DigiTimes claims. The report is claiming that component orders for Apple’s new iPhones are being lowered and is expected to be 15-30% less than what was expected for the first quarter of 2018.
“Component orders for iPhone devices will come 15-30% less than expected for the first quarter due mostly to seasonal factors, but some sources argued that the slower-than-expected sales of iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus have dragged down the momentum for the iPhone X.” While seasonal factors do affect the amount of units produced, 9to5Mac notes that component orders for the iPhone 8 actually began falling off in the final months of 2017, which is something a bit unusual as far as Apple’s flagships are concerned.
It is possible that customers are a bit confused by having essentially three flagships to choose from, but either way we guess we’ll have to wait until February where Apple is expected to announce their financials, and where we’ll probably get a better idea of how well the new iPhones are doing.
