For those who utilize microSD cards, you might be interested to learn that Integral Memory has announced that they will begin shipping their 512GB microSD card in February. What this means is that soon users will have half a terabyte worth of storage that’s about the size of a fingertip.
That being said, it should be noted that users will need to have a device that can handle microSDXC, which for the most part most phones and tablets can support. It will feature transfer speeds of up to 80MB/s, which isn’t exactly the fastest microSD card we’ve seen to date, but if you’re after mere storage capacity and not speed, then this could be worth looking forward to.
Integral does not mention how much the 512GB microSD card will cost, but as Engadget notes, the company’s 400GB card already commands a price of around $250, which means that the 512GB card will most likely come with an even more premium price tag.
