Google Has Already Begun Teasing For I/O 2018

As expected Google will be hosting its I/O event again this year, as they have for the past several years, and typically it is held close to the middle of the year. However it looks like Google has decided to start the teasing leading up to the event, thanks to a report from 9to5Google who spotted the tweet.

In a tweet posted by Google, it seems that Google has decided to tease developers and attendees as to when the event will be taking place. This information can actually be uncovered as the image posted by Google can actually be translated from binary. From there users will be led from one clue to the next, where presumably ultimately it is expected that users will eventually find out more details about I/O 2018.

However what’s interesting is that according to one of the teaser images, it contains an image of what appears to be a pineapple cake. Given that the next version of Android will be known as Android P, it is possible Pineapple Cake could be its name, but then again Google has been known to troll its users before, so maybe we wouldn’t place too much stock into this.

The event will mostly focus on Google software, which means that we can expect to learn more about Android, Chrome OS, and also perhaps about Google’s Fuchsia operating system, but for now it’s probably too early to tell.
