For those who are learning about Clips for the first time, or who might have forgotten about it due to its somewhat low-key launch, Clips is camera about the size of a GoPro, where Google will leverage the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to capture images based on facial recognition, lighting, and framing.
Basically it’s almost as if you had a professional photographer living in your home to capture moments that you might miss out on or do not recognize. Of course those who are more privacy-conscious might not be too thrilled at such devices that could be seen as you being “spied” on, but to each their own.
Google had previously priced the device at $250 which is actually a fair amount for them to ask, but whether or not it will be worth it remains to be seen. In the meantime we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for when the device is officially available for purchase. Alternatively you could head on over to Google’s Store if you’d like more details.
