The controller itself retains its classic shape, except that in terms of a paint job, it appears to have been splashed with purple and green bits of paint. There are some subtleties to its design, such as its “translucent design” and also the “laser-etched barnacles”. One of its triggers has also been colored gold, with the left control stick sporting a compass design to keep with its nautical theme.
According to Microsoft, “Weigh anchor and get ready to fight, sail and loot in style with the Xbox Wireless Controller – Sea of Thieves Limited Edition. Gaze into the murky depths of the deep purple translucent design, adorned with laser etched barnacles, one treasured golden trigger, and haunted by a mysterious skull that glows at sundown.”
Note that according to the Redmond company, this controller is a limited edition controller and will be launched on the 15th of February, 2018. If you’d like to learn more or pre-order it, head on over to the Xbox website for the details.
