Samsung Galaxy S9 Battery Size Could Be Maintained At 3,000mAh

If you were hoping to see Samsung increase the battery size of the Galaxy S9 this year, you might be disappointed because in a photo uploaded onto Slashleaks by user ZYADATEF12, it shows the alleged filing Samsung has done with Brazil’s telco agency in which the battery size of the Galaxy S9 has been revealed to be of the 3,000mAh variety.

What this means is that the Galaxy S9’s battery has been revealed to be the same size as the Galaxy S8, meaning that in terms of battery capacity, Samsung has made no changes. However this doesn’t necessarily mean it is a bad thing. We’re seeing how chipset makers have been making improvements and changes to their chipsets where they are not only more powerful, but also more efficient.

This means that worst case scenario, the Galaxy S9 will offer the same battery life as the Galaxy S8 but is still capable of putting out more power. That being said we can’t confirm if this posting is true, so take it with a grain of salt for now. As for the Galaxy S9+, assuming Samsung is keeping things the same, the Galaxy S9+ could be packing a 3,500mAh battery.

In any case we should find out soon enough as during CES 2018, Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy S9 will be unveiled in February around MWC 2018.
