If you were to check the battery settings on your phone to find out about its usage, more often than not the display of your phone is usually the biggest battery drainer. However it seems that thanks to a recent update that Samsung has pushed out to its phone, its displays are now draining even more battery than ever, according to a series of posts on Reddit.
Users of the Galaxy S8, S8+, and Note 8 have been complaining that their phones’ displays are waking up at random intervals, and that when it does, it seems that to at the maximum brightness which no doubt adds to the battery drain, and in some cases for those who might be light sleepers, waking them up in the process as well.
Like we said, this problem seems to have surfaced following an update that Samsung pushed out to the handsets back in November 2017. It also seems that factory resetting the handset, booting into safe mode, or wiping the cache partition does nothing to fix the problem, which is really odd.
At this point in time it is unclear as to what might be causing the problem, whether it could be an issue with Bixby activating, or something else entirely. Samsung has yet to officially comment on the problem so we don’t even know if they are aware of it or if a fix could be in the works.
