Usually we find image stabilization features inside of lenses themselves, but having it built into the camera body means that all lenses you put on it will benefit from it, which is obviously a huge advantage. Unfortunately for those hoping to see that in the Fujifilm X-T3, you guys will be disappointed.
This is according to a report from Fuji Rumors who claims that according to their sources, the X-T3 will not come with in-body image stabilization (IBIS). Should we be surprised? In a way not really, especially since the X-T1 and X-T2 both do not have the feature. However there was a glimmer of hope because you might have heard that Fujifilm is working on a new camera called the X-H1 which is rumored to feature IBIS, which in turn has spurred speculation that maybe the company could bring it to the X-T3.
Image stabilization is a feature that many photographers and videographers can appreciate, especially if they’re shooting in handheld mode. While having a steady hand and grounding yourself properly obviously helps, image stabilization takes that to the next level to further ensure that your photos do not come out blurry/shaky.
That being said, given that the X-T2 was announced mid-2016, we’re probably a year or two away from the X-T3 being made official, which also means that things could change from now until then, but it’s probably best to take it with a grain of salt for now. In the meantime the X-H1 is rumored for an announcement next month, so check back with us then for more updates.
