Amazon only announced that availability would be in 2018 but did not specify when, but the good news for our readers in Australia and New Zealand is that we finally have a date to look forward to. According to Amazon, they are planning on making the Echo speakers and Alexa digital assistant available in Australia and New Zealand in early February.
As it stands, the Echo, Echo Dot, and Echo Plus are available for pre-order where they are priced at $149, $79, and $229 (all in AUD) respectively. The version of Alexa launched will also be catered specifically for Australia and New Zealand, where it will come loaded with knowledge about the local areas, as well as skills created by local developers.
In addition to launching their Echo speakers and Alexa assistant, Amazon will be making its music streaming service Music Unlimited available at $5 a month. So for those living in the region, these could be things to look forward to next month.
