According to reports, Drake’s latest single has managed to break first-day streaming records. The single managed to rack up 4.3 million streams on the first day on Spotify, but that’s not all because a tweet by Zane Lowe has revealed that the song was streamed 14 million times on Apple Music.

This means that Apple Music streams have had a lead of about 10 million streams versus Spotify, and this is despite the fact that Spotify is pretty much at the top of the hill when it comes to subscribers. Last we heard, Spotify was boasting that they had 70 million subscribers, which is a significantly higher number than the competition.
That being said, it has been pointed out that this isn’t the first time Drake has broken records. The artist had previously held records as Spotify’s most-streamed artist for two consecutive years in 2015 and 2016, before falling to the number two spot in 2017 where musician Ed Sheeran stole the number one position.
