One of the new features that Canary will be introducing to its security system is the ability to detect packages. According to the company, “Package Detection will allow Canary users with a Canary Flex to be notified the moment a package arrives on the doorstep. With package theft becoming all too common, Package Detection gives you real-time smart alerts for package drop-off, and ongoing monitoring capabilities that allow you to monitor your delivery if you don’t have a trusted friend or neighbor to store your package safely until you can retrieve it.”
The company plans on launching the feature in the first half of 2018 and it will be available to those on the Canary Flex membership plan. In addition to package detection, Canary has also announced integration with Amazon’s Alexa digital assistant platform in the form of a new Alexa skill.
This means that those who own devices like the Amazon Echo will be able to use their voice to control their Canary security system, or if you have the Echo Show, you will be able to beam a live feed from your camera onto the device. Integration is expected to arrive in the coming weeks.
