According to Apple’s announcement, Chazelle will be writing and directing all the episodes of the new show for the first season, although apart from those details, Apple is remaining mum on what the show will be about, who will star in it, when it will be shown, and how many episodes are they planning.
This isn’t the first show that Apple has managed to nab for its upcoming catalogue. Recently we heard that the company had managed to land a new comedy series starring Kristen Wiig, and that they are in a bidding war for J.J. Abrams’ new sci-fi TV series. While Apple has no doubt been busy buying shows and pursuing potential projects, the company hasn’t really said much on which platform they plan to debut it.
Apple TV makes a pretty good candidate, although the drawback is that it will require users to purchase new hardware. So far Apple has released some shows on its Apple Music platform, but we’ll have to wait and see. In the meantime Netflix believes that Apple’s TV shows will most likely be bundled with either Apple Music or iOS.
