This is why it doesn’t come as a surprise to learn that in a report from Bloomberg, it seems that Apple had actually sent representatives to CES 2018 where they were reported to have met up with augmented reality (AR) component suppliers that would be able to supply them with the necessary hardware for AR glasses.
There is no way to confirm if this meeting did take place, but then again we wouldn’t be surprised since meetings do happen from time to time, although whether or not it was a fruitful meeting is probably of more interest. However we do know that Apple is indeed keen on AR technology, and last we heard the company could be working on their own AR glasses that could debut in 2020.
The report goes on to add that Apple was not the only one meeting up with AR component suppliers, and that other companies such as Facebook and Google had their own meetings as well.
