This is when Amazon introduced month-to-month subscription fees, where at $10.99 a month, customers would ultimately get the same benefits. This adds up to more than $99 a year, but we suppose that’s the price of freedom/flexibility. Unfortunately it looks like those prices will now be going up as Amazon has confirmed the price increase.
Instead of $10.99 a month, the price will be increased to $12.99 in the US. This means that instead of paying $131.88 a year, customers will now be paying $155.88 instead. However we should point out that the price hike only applies to customers who choose the month-to-month option, and that the annual subscription of $99 will not change. Amazon also notes that Prime Video membership will remain the same at $8.99 a month.
So if you are subscribed on a month-to-month basis and have been doing so for a year now, perhaps now might be a good time to bite the bullet and just purchase an annual plan outright and save yourself around $60.
