According to Tinder, “Super Likeable is a new artificial intelligence-powered experience that aims to delight and surprise with a simple and fun new format to introduce you to people we think will be of special interest to you.” They add, “You can’t search for it. You can’t find it. Super Likeable will come as a surprise as you swipe. If you land on it, it means you just earned one free Super Like that you can send to any of the four people presented to you on that card.”
Note that Tinder is not the first dating app to rely on AI to help suggest matches to its users. Another dating app called Coffee Meets Bagel also attempts to do the same thing. This kind of personalized dating isn’t exactly a new concept either, as we have seen it applied to articles we read on Facebook, photos we interact with on Instagram, music we listen to, and so on.
Whether or not you’ll actually find it useful is a different story, but if you wouldn’t mind getting some suggestions every now and then, it could be worth looking forward to. Super Likeable is currently being tested in New York and Los Angeles, and should eventually roll out to all users.
