According to reports, it seems that the upcoming Android 8.1 update has addressed the audio issues users are experiencing when recording video. The update is currently in developer preview, which is sort of like a beta which means that it isn’t available to all users just yet, but know that when the update is released, the problem should be fixed.
There is no word on when Android 8.1 will be released to the public, but we’ll be keeping an eye out for it. The Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL handsets have unfortunately been hit with a ton of problems upon its release, such as weird clicking sounds, display burn-ins, and more, although to Google’s credit they have been quick to address the issues.
In the meantime you can check out the videos below, where one runs on Android 8.0 and shows the audio issues when recording, and the other with Android 8.1 where the audio issues are gone.
