However it seems that the project is still alive and well, according to a report from Variety in which a job listing on LinkedIn was discovered where its description reads, “In this role, you’ll work on the next generation of Google Hardware to enable the best multi-touch user experience. You will lead the touch module development and integration for Google Hardware from concept to mass production.”
Google did not respond to Variety’s request for comment, but the job listing does lend an air of legitimacy surrounding the rumors. However the question is when will it be announced? Unfortunately that’s still anyone’s guess, and based on the listing, it sounds like Google could still be working on it.
There are some possible dates that it could be announced, like at CES 2018 where Google is said to have their own booth. Alternatively we could be looking at an announcement at Google I/O 2018, but either way we’ll keep our eyes peeled for it.
