Google Assistant To Come To Tablets And More Android Phones

If you do not own a Pixel or Nexus handset that comes with the latest Android update, then chances are you are probably missing out on some newer Android features, such as Google Assistant, especially when you consider that Android 8.0 Oreo is only installed on 0.5% of all Android devices.

However the good news is that while Google can’t really do anything about updating your non-Nexus/Pixel phone to Oreo, what they can do is bring some features to older devices, which is what the company has recently announced in which they will be bringing Google Assistant onto older Android smartphones as well as Android tablets.

According to Google’s announcement, “From phones to speakers to watches and more, the Google Assistant is already available across a number of devices and languages—and now, it’s coming to Android tablets running Android 7.0 Nougat and 6.0 Marshmallow and phones running 5.0 Lollipop.”

Google is claiming that the Google Assistant rollout has already started and is finding its way to various countries around the world. As for those who are using Android tablets, Google is saying that the feature should be rolled out over the coming week, so you’ll want to keep an eye out for its availability if this is something you’re interested in.
