According to their testing (via MacRumors), the organization has given their recommendation for the iPhone X, but have stated that consumers who wish to save money should opt for the iPhone 8 or 8 Plus instead because not only are these phones cheaper, but they are also cite the battery life and durability as an issue.
For example in their tests, they found that the iPhone X managed to squeeze out 19.5 hours, versus the iPhone 8 Plus which lasted 21 hours, although even then that pales in comparison to the likes of the Galaxy S8 and S8+ which managed 26 hours. According to Consumer Reports, “These iPhones are more resistant to breaking, and they have the familiar Home button, which means you don’t have to spend time learning a new system of swipes and button clicks.”
Of course at the end of the day sometimes some people just like to have the latest and greatest hardware, but if you’re looking to hold onto a phone for the next 2-3 years, then these are factors that should be considered.
