Unfortunately for customers who might have bought the company’s InvisGlass Ultra screen protector for the iPhone X, it looks like the company has temporarily halted the sales of the accessory following customer complaints. One customer wrote on Belkin’s website, “I loved the glass feel and everything was fine until a couple days ago when I lightly tapped on the top portion of the screen with my pen and it cracked! There are 3 crack lines coming from the initial crack point. I am very disappointed in the durability of this product to say the least.”
Belkin had initially denied any issues with the screen protector, but they have since changed their tune. In a statement provided to MacRumors, “We have been constantly testing this product since we released the first generation of it timed to iPhone X availability and things have evolved since you and I last spoke. We identified some improvements to be made in the next generation of this product.”
It is not known if Belkin has plans to refund existing customers, or allow them to swap their screen protectors for the newer and “improved” model, but hopefully they will.
