Are headphones too troublesome of you? Are they took bulky? Easily falling out? Afraid you might misplace them? Well the good news is that Atari has a solution for you in the form of the Atari Speakerhat, which in case you didn’t already figure out, is a hat that comes with built-in speakers.
The “device” was announced earlier this year and it seemed like it might have been an April Fool’s joke/prank, but it is indeed very well. In fact if you’re so inclined, it seems that Atari has finally put the Speakerhat up for sale where if you’re so inclined, you’ll be able to get your hands (and head) on one.
The Speakerhat is priced at $130, but until the 2nd of January, 2018, Atari is knocking off $30 the price tag, meaning that you’ll be able to get it for $100. There are a couple of designs to choose from, such as hats emblazoned with the Atari word or logo, and there’s even a limited edition Pong version and a Blade Runner 2049 version, all of which are also priced at $130 RRP.
Now we can’t speak to the audio quality of the speakers, but given their size, you probably shouldn’t expect too much. However if you love collecting quirky things or have a feeling that this could skyrocket in value some day, go ahead to Atari’s website to place your order.
