Analyst Claims iPhone 8 Production Cuts Confused With iPhone X

Word on the street is that Apple is cutting iPhone X production due to low demand for its flagship smartphone. Some even believe that the company is going to cut the price of the iPhone X next month in order to improve demand for the handset. Not everyone is buying this, though. One analyst believes that these reports have confused Apple’s production cuts for the iPhone 8 with the iPhone X.

Analyst Jun Zhang claims that their firm’s research shows that Apple has actually trimmed orders for the iPhone 8 which a section of the media has confused with the iPhone X. They actually expect Apple to ramp up iPhone X production this month.

The iPhone X is said to be seeing stable sales in North America throughout the holiday season. Moreover, it’s also claimed that the iPhone X demand has likely increased in China over the last two weeks.

The firm’s industry research with Chinese operators shows that iPhone X sales have likely crossed iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus sales combined so far.

If these claims are accurate it would mean that the concerns about the iPhone X are overblown. Unfortunately, since Apple does not comment on supply chain chatter, it’s going to be difficult to decide what’s accurate in the absence of an official confirmation.
