If you have a Sonos sound system in your home and use Tidal has your preferred music streaming service, rejoice, because you will now be able to control your music system from within the Tidal app. The music streaming service has updated its app with the ability to control Sonos hardware. This means that users will be able to control their sound system without having to switch between multiple apps.
Tidal isn’t the first music streaming service to enable its listeners to control Sonos hardware from within its app. Spotify and Pandora have both added similar functionality to their apps already.
The Tidal app now enables users to control playback to their Sonos speakers from inside the app. It also enables friends who don’t have access to the Sonos hardware but are on the user’s Wi-Fi network to play music through the speakers as well.
Tidal and Sonos have also launched an original interview series called Sound Tracks. Filmed in the Sonos Store in New York, the series will be hosted by veteran music journalist Joe Levy. It will feature in-depth interviews with famous producers, engineers, managers, A&R executives, and more.
For a limited time, Sonos customers can also avail a special three-month trial of Tidal HiFi.
