Razer Phone Camera Will Be Improved In The Coming Weeks

Razer recently released its first smartphone, aptly called the Razer Phone. The company says that while it made sure that the handset has an amazing camera right out of the gate, it continues to test, optimize, and make improvements to its camera software. Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan has confirmed that the company is going to roll out improvements for the Razer Phone’s camera in the coming weeks.

The Razer Phone has an 8 megapixel front camera and dual 12 megapixel cameras at the back. The camera hardware and sensors are good in that they’re what you would expect from a flagship-level handset in 2017. Since the hardware has already shipped and obviously can’t be changed, Razer is going focusing on improving the performance of the camera software.

Razer is specifically focused on improving the performance of the camera app in the short term. It’s looking to improve features such as shutter speed, low light, and more. Tan has said that these fixes and optimizations will be rolled out in the next few weeks.

In the coming months, the next major camera app release will take place for the Razer Phone. It will have features like the new instazoom button. It will let users immediately jump to the optimal zoom with the telephoto lens. It’s a feature that was requested by nearly all reviews, Tan says.

Additional features like the ability to record 60fps video, portrait mode, and further speed improvements will be included in the Oreo update for the Razer Phone which will be released in late Q1 2018.
