In fact it seems that according to a recent report from Photo Rumors, Panasonic could have a small upgrade of the GH5 in the works dubbed the GH5s, or whatever the company plans on calling it. It won’t be a particularly huge upgrade, according to the rumors, so those who bought the GH5 won’t feel like they got cheated.
According to the rumors, the GH5s is expected to be differentiated from the GH5 in term of video, where it will be more capable of shooting in low-light. It is also said to feature “state of the art” video functions, whatever that’s supposed to mean, and could be priced higher than the GH5 as well, which was announced earlier this year where it is currently selling for around $2,000.
The report is also claiming that the GH5s could be announced as soon as next month, or possibly in January 2018, which we suppose makes sense as January 2018 is when CES is kicking off. Take it with a grain of salt for now, but if you’re thinking of getting a camera for videography, then the GH5s could be worth keeping an eye out for.
