Panasonic Lumix G9 Camera Announced

If you’re in the market for a new digital camera with an interchangeable lens, then you will be interested to learn that Panasonic has a new camera for you in the form of the Panasonic Lumix G9. This is the company’s latest camera offering which also appears to borrow certain features from the Lumix GH5, which is obviously a good thing.

For starters we are looking at a camera which uses the same sensor as the GH5, which for those unfamiliar is a 20.3MP sensor with a built-in low-pass filter, but it can also be bumped to 80MP thanks to a feature in the camera that combines eight separate images into one. It is also capable of recording 4K video at 60fps, so if videography is something you’re interested in then the Lumix G9 should have no problems delivering on that front.

We are also looking at a camera with an impressive autofocus speed of 0.04 seconds, and can shoot at 60fps in AF-S mode, and 20fps in AF-C mode. The camera will also come with an in-body 5-axis image stabilization, so photographers and videographers won’t need to seek out specific lens for image stabilization. The G9 will also come with an OLED EVF, a 3-inch free-angle LCD with touchscreen support, Bluetooth 4.2 and WiFi connectivity.

As for pricing and availability, the Lumix G9 will be priced at $1,700 for the body-only and is expected to be available come early January 2018.
