This is according to a report from The Wall Street Journal in which they claim that Nintendo is planning on ramping up production significantly for 2018. The report claims that Nintendo will be producing as many as 25-30 million Switch consoles for 2018, and that those numbers go higher depending on this year’s holiday sales.
We have to say that Nintendo is being very optimistic, since a jump from under 8 million units to 25-30 million is a huge leap, but then again there are quite a few games that are still in the pipeline for the Switch, with big name publishers like Square Enix throwing their support behind the console, so it is possible that we will see more interest in the Switch in the near future.
That being said, the Switch’s sales are still pretty far behind the likes of the PS4, but given that Nintendo did let down many gamers with the Wii U, we suppose many were a bit skeptical right out the gate. However reviews of the Switch and its titles have since been largely positive, so it definitely looks like Nintendo has managed to make a successful comeback.
