Back in September a couple of months ago, Blizzard confirmed that they were working on a new hero for Overwatch, and sure enough at BlizzCon 2017, it seems that the new hero has been officially announced in the form of Moira, who Blizzard has described as a support hero with healing abilities.
Blizzard’s description of the character reads, “Moira’s biotic abilities enable her to contribute healing or damage in any crisis. While Biotic Grasp gives Moira short-range options, her Biotic Orbs contribute longer-range, hands-off damage and healing; she can also Fade to escape groups or remain close to allies in need of support. Once she’s charged Coalescence, Moira can save multiple allies from elimination at once or finish off weakened enemies.”
Now you might recall that back in July, there was a leak that was allegedly that of an upcoming Overwatch character. The character was said to be a former member of Blackwatch and also a former student of Reaper, and while the name and drawing of the character is completely different from Moira, it seems that the leak was partially right based on the official information of the character. It is possible that the earlier leak was an early concept before it evolved into Moira today.
That being said, there is still no release date on when Blizzard will add Moira to the game, but she should be playable on the PTR in the near future, but in the meantime you can check out the video above for some of the details.
