One of the fun things about going out to a bar or restaurant is that you don’t have to make your own drinks. This means you can enjoy conversations with friends uninterrupted while you get plied with drinks throughout the night. Unfortunately that’s not entirely possible at home, short of hiring a personal bartender.
However bourbon-maker Jim Beam has the solution for you in the form of a smart decanter that is simply dubbed “Jim”. We haven’t actually tried it out for ourselves so we can speak to whether or not it works as advertised, but from what we can tell in the video above, Jim is capable of pouring you a new drink on command using just your voice.
The video does not state what digital assistant Jim is using, but it seems to be able to answer questions when asked. As The Verge points out, it almost looks like it is a gag you might expect on April Fools, but it is an actual product you can buy. According to the company, Jim is a limited edition device that is priced at $35 and will be available for purchase via Jim Beam’s website.
