That being said, that has changed as Instagram has updated its Stories feature where users can now upload older photos and videos. According to Instagram “Starting today, you can add photos and videos to your story, even if you took them more than 24 hours ago. Now, you’ll be able to easily find and choose anything from your camera roll and share it instantly with friends.”
If you were to select an older photo, there will be a new sticker that you can add to it, like a date, so that you can give your viewers some context on the photo like when it was taken. Alternatively if you don’t want the sticker you can feel free to remove it. Other than that, these photos and videos will have access to all the same editing features and stickers that you can expect from Stories.
The change to Stories will be available on iOS and Android, with users needing at least version 22 for iOS and version 18 for Android.
