In a report from The Wall Street Journal, a company by the name of National Audio has decided to build the US’s first high-grade tape manufacturing line in decades. The hope of the company is that come January 2018, they will be able to produce as much as 4 miles of tape per minute from their new facility.
It is not surprising that older formats such as cassette have been dying ever since newer formats like CDs and even digital formats were introduced. However like we said, just like vinyl, surprisingly enough there appears to be a demand for cassette tapes in recent times, according to a report from earlier this year by The Wall Street Journal.
While digital does appear to be the new standard and the format we expect to consume for years to come, we suppose just like vinyl, there will always be enthusiasts or aficionados who will see the value in these formats.
