There are still plenty of devices out there that have yet to receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update. That’s despite the fact that Google has already released Nougat’s successor Android 8.0 Oreo. The Nougat update is gradually making its way to more handsets. It has finally landed on the HTC Desire 530 on the country’s largest mobile network.
HTC Desire 530 has not received a major update since Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow which was released by Google in December 2015. Those who own this handset have been made to wait a considerable amount of time to get a taste of Nougat.
HTC has now confirmed through its device page that the Desire 530 is finally receiving the Android 7.0 Nougat update. The other “key enhancement” that this update includes is the August 2017 monthly security patch.
Verizon is rolling out build number 2.11.605.4 for the HTC Desire 530 on its network. The firmware is being sent out over-the-air so it’s going to be a while before it goes live for users across all regions.
All of the features that come part and parcel of the Android 7.0 Nougat update are included in this release. This is likely the last major update for this handset as it probably won’t have support for Android 8.0 Oreo.
Users should ensure that their handset is connected to Wi-Fi and has ample charge before they set out to download and install this update on their HTC Desire 530.
