Do you ever feel like you’ve reached a point in your life when social networks like Facebook and Twitter just don’t feel enough anymore? If you’ve not reached that point, singer-songwriter Taylor Swift certainly has. The artist has teamed up with Glu to launch a new app called The Swift Life. It’s basically her own social network.
Glu has a long history of celebrity collaborations. It’s the company that gave us games like Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, Katy Perry Pop, Nicki Minaj: The Empire, and Britney Spears: American Dream.
According to Glu CEO Nick Earl, The Swift Life is a “new digital entertainment project” with a deeply social environment. The press release doesn’t go into a lot of details about what the app actually does, but it seems to be a social network for Swift’s fans.
The design seems to take inspiration from Instagram and Tumblr and promises exclusive content from Swift that fans won’t find on other social networks. Direct engagement with Swift might even be possible. That’s not it. Taylor is also said to be launching her very own emoji set called “Taymojis,” because she can.
The Swift Life is going to be launched in beta later this year, a confirmed date has not yet been provided.
