Just last month T-Mobile launched a new promotion in which subscribers to its network would be entitled to free Netflix subscription. This is of course the standard subscription, but basically it’s still free so why not, right? That being said with Netflix planning to increase its prices in the US, how does this affect T-Mobile customers?
The good news is that it doesn’t. In tweets by T-Mobile’s CEO John Legere and the official T-Mobile Help Twitter account, they have confirmed that nothing needs to be done on the customers end because T-Mobile will continue to cover your Netflix subscription. Once again this is only for the standard subscription and anything more, like if you wanted the subscription with more screens and 4K (which costs more), you’d only have to pay the difference of $3.
However if you plan to keep sticking to the standard plan, then know that nothing has changed. Netflix’s price increase will see the company charge $1 more for the standard tier, and $2 more for the 4K four screens subscription tier, but the basic plan’s rate is still staying the same at $8 a month.
Netflix’s subscription rates have been on the increase over the years, but we guess with the company planning to invest as much as $7 billion in content in the near future, it looks like maybe they are hoping to cover their costs.
