It has been known for quite some time now that a standalone Star Wars Han Solo movie is in the pipeline. What the studio hadn’t confirmed, though, was the actual title. We no longer have to guess or rely on rumors anymore because the movie’s director Ron Howard has just confirmed that Star Wars Han Solo movie title.
Ron Howard confirmed today that the Star Wars-related movie that he’s been directing is going to be called Solo: A Star Wars Story.
Solo: A Star Wars Story is the second standalone movie in the universe after Rogue One was released last year. It ended up doing very well at the box office, bringing in over $1.06 billion worldwide.
Production began several months ago and the movie was originally being directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. However, their stint was cut short by creative differences and Ron Howard stepped in as the director.
The standalone Han Solo movie has quite the cast, featuring actors like Alden Ehrenreich, Donald Glover, Emilia Clarke, Woody Harrelson, Paul Bettany, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Thandie Newton.
Not much is known about the actual plot itself, so it’s going to be very interesting to see what sort of a story is told about one of the most beloved characters of the Star Wars universe.
Solo: A Star Wars Story will be released on May 25th, 2018.
