Sony demonstrated its Xperia Touch projector back at the Mobile World Congress this year. The company today announced that this product is now available for purchase in the United States. It’s different from what you’d think a conventional projector would be. The Xperia Touch is basically a projector and smart speaker coupled with an Android tablet. It’s not cheap by any stretch of the imagination.
Xperia Touch is an interactive projector that can transform any flat surface into a 23 inch HD touchscreen via a horizontal or vertical ultrashort-throw laser projection system. It can project up to 80 inches on the wall.
It has support for Google Play apps so users can enjoy their favorite apps and games. It has support for PlayStation 4 Remote Play as well for those who like gaming.
That’s not all. The Xperia Touch also has a 13 megapixel camera and a two-way stereo speaker which makes it very useful for group video chats as well. Online video streaming services, messaging apps, and social networks can be accessed through it as well.
The Xperia Touch is now available for purchase in the United States from Amazon for $1,700. It’s also going to be available from select T-Mobile stores in Chicago, Miami, and Los Angeles.
