Samsung Patent Hints At How The Galaxy X Could Look Like

For a while now we have been hearing that Samsung could have a foldable phone in the works dubbed the Galaxy X. This isn’t so much a phone that can flip open and close, but rather a phone with a full screen display that can be folded into half, which is a rather interesting albeit novel concept.

So how exactly will this phone look like? We have seen patents filed in the past that have given us a clue, although in recent times the folks at LetsGoDigital have stumbled across another patent that seems to be a bit more “modern”. In this particular patent, it shows how the middle of the phone will come with a hinge-like mechanism that would facilitate the folding aspect of it.

Unfortunately the patent only shows the back of the phone so we have no idea what the front looks like, but presumably it will sport a full screen display, otherwise we’re just looking at a glorified flip phone, something that Samsung is no stranger to as the company has launched foldable phones in markets like China in the past.

So far there is still no set date on when the phone will be launched. Last we heard it might only see a release in 2018, and even then it could be a limited-run handset limited to 100,000 units and also exclusive to South Korea, but hopefully we’ll have more details soon.
