Samsung Bringing Bluetooth 5.0 To Mid-Range Devices

It appears that Samsung might be expanding Bluetooth 5.0 to mid-range devices. It’s the new industry standard which provides 4x range, 2x speed, and 8x broadcasting message capacity compared to its predecessor. It appears that Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy A (2018) series might feature Bluetooth 5.0.

The Galaxy S8 was the first smartphone on the market with Bluetooth 5.0 earlier this year. It’s also present on the Galaxy Note 8 as well. It certainly won’t be surprising if Samsung filters the new industry standard down to its mid-range lineup as well.

The Galaxy A5 (2018) and Galaxy A7 (2018) are both expected to feature the Exynos 7885 processor from Samsung. A listing for this chip has been spotted at the Bluetooth SIG. The listing reveals that it has received certification for Bluetooth 5.0.

This is a big indication that the upcoming mid-range smartphones from Samsung are going to feature Bluetooth 5.0.

Bluetooth 5.0 offers the above mentioned features as well as improved interoperability and coexistence with other wireless technologies so it’s going to be a welcome addition to the lineup.

Samsung is yet to confirm anything officially about the new Galaxy A (2018) series. Rumor has it that these handsets will be released in a couple of months from now, possibly in the first quarter of 2018.
