As you might have heard by now, gaming accessory maker and computer maker is planning on entering the mobile space, not just by designing accessories or apps or services for our phones, but by actually making a phone of their own. Razer’s smartphone effort is expected to be officially unveiled tomorrow, but it seems like a huge leak beat them to the punch.
In a post on Reddit (via Android Police) by user open1your1eyes0, it seems that UK carrier 3G posted up details about the Razer phone prematurely, giving away all of the phone’s specs in the process. The listing (which has since been taken down, but a screenshot is available here) also shows off a blurry/fuzzy image of ak handset which we’re not sure is the Razer phone or simply a generic placeholder.
That being said in terms of specs the Razer phone is allegedly packing a 5.72-inch IGZO display with a 120Hz refresh rate (not mention of resolution, but presumably at least QHD or better). It will also feature Dolby Atmos sound with dual front-facing speakers and amplifiers certified by THX. There will also be dual cameras on the back, a massive 4,000mAh battery, and as per previous reports, it looks like the phone will indeed come with 8GB of RAM.
It is entirely possible that these specs are just the guesswork of someone at the carrier’s marketing department, so take it with a grain of salt for now, but either way with the announcement set for tomorrow, we guess we won’t have to wait too long for the official details.
