For those who want to purchase a spare just in case they lose it, you might want to take note that replacing the headphone adapter will cost you $20. Yup, it seems that Google has decided to charge customers $20 for a new headphone adapter that will allow users to plug in a wired headphone into the Pixel 2 phone.
This is pretty pricey because Google’s competitor, like Apple, is only charging $9 for the adapter for the iPhone, which means that Google’s offering is more than double the price. Of course there will be cheaper alternatives out there, but if you prefer purchasing official accessories then this is the price you will have to pay.
That being said, it is clear that wireless headphones will be the way of the future as we’re starting to see many companies launch wireless headphones and earbuds. In fact Google themselves have recently unveiled the Pixel Buds which appears to be the company’s answer to the AirPods from Apple.
