You Can Now Order Food On Facebook

If you tend to get hungry while swiping through the News Feed on Facebook, you don’t even have to exit the app in order to get some grub. Facebook has confirmed that users in the United States can now order food via the social network. Users can order food for pick-up or delivery directly on Facebook.

Facebook has actually been testing out this functionality since last year with select partners. It has made some changes in response to user feedback and has also added more partners. The functionality is now live for all users in the United States on iOS, Android, and desktop.

Users can check out the restaurants nearby by heading to the Order Food section in the Explore menu on Facebook. They can then decide on a restaurant and punch in their order. Users can also select which service they’d like to use for takeout or delivery if the restaurant offers multiple options.

They will see options from a variety of food ordering services like EatStreet, Delivery.com, DoorDash, ChowNow and Olo, as well as restaurants like Jack in the Box, Five Guys, Papa John’s, and Panera inside Facebook.

Facebook hasn’t said if it’s planning to expand this functionality outside the United States. If the response is good in the U.S., maybe it might launch this elsewhere as well.
