That being said, it seems that the rumors of three Pixel phones just won’t seem to go away because according to new reports, it appears that could be the case for 2018. In a report from Droid-Life, they were tipped off by their source that Google is working on three devices for 2018 codenamed “crosshatch,” “albacore”, and “blueline”.
If you’re looking for more proof, it seems that references to these codenames were spotted in a comment to an AOSP listing which you can check out here. However whether or not this will materialize into actual devices remains to be seen, especially since we are this early into the rumors. It is possible that Google could simply be working on prototypes and that they might not necessarily go through with the final launch, so take it with a grain of salt for now.
It’s also a bit too early to tell what we might be able to expect from the Pixel 3 phones. It is possible that based on the current trend of near bezel-less phones that we could see a similar design next year, along with dual cameras, but like we said it’s too early to tell, but what do you guys think? What’s your wishlist for next year’s Pixel phones?
