The problem with platform exclusivity is that sometimes it risks alienating potential gamers who would love to play the game, but don’t own the particular console the game has launched on. Such was the case with Bungie’s Destiny title that was exclusive to consoles but not on the PC, but that has changed.
If you’re interested in checking out Destiny 2, you’ll be pleased to learn that Destiny 2 for the PC is now live. Note that Destiny 2 was released slightly earlier for console gamers before it found its way onto the PC about a month later, but we suppose better late than never, right? This means that PC gamers looking to enjoy the game on their computers will now be able to do so. If you haven’t pre-ordered the game, not to worry as you’ll be able to purchase it anyway.
Destiny 2 marks the first time that Bungie and Activision are bringing the Destiny franchise to the PC. Hopefully this will continue to be the case for future releases. It also marks the first time that a non-Blizzard game is made available via the Battle.net Launcher, but that’s not surprising given Activision is under the same Activision-Blizzard umbrella.
So far Destiny 2 appears to be off to a great start, with the latest figures from the NPD Group showing that it could be 2017’s best-selling title, although that could be contested once Call of Duty: WWII is released.
