Apple has been focusing a lot on original video content recently. If a new report is to be believed, don’t keep your fingers crossed for a Game of Thrones type show from Apple. The company reportedly has strict rules for its TV shows, it apparently won’t allow nudity or violence. Apple reportedly wants to focus its original content efforts more on comedies and dramas.
Bloomberg reports that Apple’s upcoming original TV shows are not going to feature strong language, violence or nudity. It’s going to focus on dramas and comedies instead, as well as content like Steven Spielberg’s Amazing Stories.
Basically, it’s going to focus on content that appeals to a wide audience. The scribe adds that this decision has led to producers and partners to conclude that Apple is “conservative and picky.”
There’s also no clarity on where these shows are going to air once they’re ready. They won’t be distributed through Apple Music like existing shows such as Planet of the Apps and Carpool Karaoke. This is a question that needs to be answered and so far there are no hints as to how the company is planning on distributing its original TV shows.
Apple hasn’t commented on the report so we’ll have to take the scribe’s word for it. The company will hopefully provide more details about its TV plans soon.
