As is the case with Apple Pay launches in other parts of the world, the service will be tied to various local banks and also local retailers who will be supporting the payment system at launch. In Denmark, Apple Pay will work with Nordea and Jyse (the latter only support debit cards).
In Sweden and Finland, Apple Pay will be supported by Nordea as well along with ST1 bank. As for the United Arab Emirates, the banks supporting Apple Pay include Emirates Islamic, Emirates NBD, HSBC, mashreq, RAKBANK (Mastercard) and Standard Chartered Bank. We expect that over time more banks and financial institutions will lend their support, as well as retailers, so if you don’t see your favorite bank or retailer, perhaps it will come at a later date.
There are still plenty of countries in which Apple Pay has yet to be supported so if your country isn’t on the list, be patient and it should arrive in due time.
